Janez Škrabec, Director of
Riko, d.o.o., and Matjaž Rakovec, Mayor of the Municipality of Kranj, today
signed a contract for the establishment of a public charging infrastructure for
electric buses.
Riko will install 180kW ultra-fast chargers at three locations
(Primskovo, Sotočje and Zarica) in the City Municipality of Kranj (MOK), which
will be used for fast charging of electric city buses and other vehicles. We
will also build new electricity infrastructure and improve bus stops. As part
of the project, a 450kW battery storage will be installed at a selected
location to ensure uninterrupted charging in the event of a power grid failure.
The work will be completed in early September this year.
The investor of the project is the City Municipality of Kranj. The
project is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund. The project
was won in partnership with MEGA M, an IT company, and key equipment suppliers
such as ABB and NGen.
