In November,
Riko CEO Janez Škrabec and Minskenergo CEO Oleg Ščemelj signed a contract in
Minsk announcing the start of the one of the major transformer stations in
Minsk – Himzavod 110/10/6 kV. This will be Riko's 16th project of the sort in
Belarus.
Thanks to
the accelerated construction of residential settlements in the Belarusian
capital, the associated need to build adequate infrastructure and, above all,
the construction of electricity networks and transformer stations, Riko and
Minskenergo have established a close and mutually satisfactory cooperation on
the basis of several successful joint projects.
The project
for the complete renovation of the new Himzavod transformer station involves
the dismantling of all outdated equipment and the renovation of outdated buildings
and structures. The renovated transformer station will be of a closed type and
two transformers with a capacity of 40 MVA will operate under the project.
The
renovation will allow the settlement Minsk Mir and Public Real Estate LLC
RealGradInvest to receive reliable electricity supply. This will also enable
the construction of new production areas for the production of RUE
Belmedpreparaty medicines, the construction of new commercial facilities and new
municipal infrastructure.
The project
is expected to be completed in early 2022.
