Riko in charge of the environmental protection projects in Grosuplje and Ivančna Gorica

The mayor of Grosuplje Peter Verlič and the mayor of Ivančna Gorica Dušan Strnad have met today in Grosuplje to sign the contract for the following projects “Sewage system construction and central cleaning plant upgrade in Grosuplje” and “Sewage system construction and central cleaning plant upgrade in Ivančna Gorica”.
The Grosuplje municipality issued a public tender for implementation of the projects “Sewage system construction and central cleaning plant upgrade in Grosuplje” and “Sewage system construction and central cleaning plant upgrade in Ivančna Gorica” which are a part of the projects “Discharge and cleaning of waste water in the river basin of Krka – 3rd scope. RIKO d.o.o.  applied, was chosen and became the main project contractor. The subcontractor for the construction work will be Komunalne Gradnje d.o.o. from Grosuplje. Projekt d.d. from Nova Gorica, however, will supervise the work performance.
The project “Sewage system construction and central cleaning plant upgrade in Grosuplje” includes the construction of 14,644 m of sewage system, 7 waste water pumping stations, 3 reservation pools and the upgrade of the central cleaning plant in Grosuplje from the current capacity of 10,000 PE to 20,000 PE. The construction of channels to be connected to the central cleaning plant Grosuplje from the Gatina, Spodnje Blato and Ponova vas agglomerations was foreseen within the same project.
The project “Sewage system construction and central cleaning plant upgrade in Ivančna Gorica” covers the construction of 5,895 m of sewage system, 3 waste water pumping stations and the reconstruction of the central cleaning plant in Ivančna Gorica from 15,000 PE to 6,000 PE.

RIKO as main contractor will take care of the preliminary work, earth-moving, constructions, machine and electrical work and equipment, supply of technological equipment, launch, test run and finishing work. The VAT excluded value of both project scopes is 20,333,965 EUR.
Both sewage systems will be finished in the spring od 2014 and both central cleaning plants will be put into Riko’s service in the spring of 2015.
The upgrade or reconstruction of both central cleaning plants will reduce the pressures on the natural environment and improve the quality of surface and groundwater. Due to the construction of both sewage systems the amount of water emissions that derive from municipal sources of pollution will decrease and the population’s health and life conditions and the economic infrastructure for the acceleration of the further industrial and other economic development in both municipalities will improve, including the development of the residential environment. 

The project is partially financed from the EU Cohesion Fund created in the frame of the “Operational program for the development of environmental and traffic infrastructure for the period 2007-2013”, developmental priorities: Environmental protection – Water sector; priority guidelines: Waste water discharge and cleaning«.
