Power Engineering Field in Belarus

24. 2. 2011
Yesterday, the Riko company signed a contract worth €54 million in Minsk for the construction of two transformer substations with switchyards and interconnected cable lines for voltage levels of 110KV/10KV. The investor for the project is the MINSKENERGO RB company that supplies and distributes electrical and heat energy to the area of the city of MINSK and its surroundings. MINSKENERGO RB generates 40% of all electrical energy in Belarus.
Riko has arranged for the financing of the project and will as the general contractor assume complete responsibility for project implementation. The project will be completed in the beginning of 2013 and will feature Slovenian know-how in addition to that brought to the table by world-renowned subcontractors. The project is a promising venture for Slovenian partners such as Etra, Iskra, Sipro, Elektronabava, ABB and Siemens.

We have gained invaluable knowledge and experience primarily through the construction of the Sv. Petka hydroelectric power plant in Macedonia.

Because Belarus is focused on upgrading their energy generation, transmission and distribution infrastructure, Riko sees great potential for new business opportunities from their strategic investments into transformer stations, renewable energy sources and utilisation of natural resources. We have submitted our bids in several tenders in Belarus covering the field of energy engineering.
