Celebrating the Roof Completion on the Expanded Set Warehouse for the Bavarian Opera near Munich
The Bavarian State Government held a ceremony to mark the completion of the roof on the new automated racking warehouse for the prestigious Bavarian Opera, currently under construction by Riko. The event featured speeches from Ms. Doris Lackerbauer, Head of the State Building Office in Rosenheim, Mr. Christian Bernreiter, Bavarian State Minister for Housing, Construction, and Transport, Mr. Markus Blume, Bavarian State Minister for Science and Arts, Mr. Serge Dorny, Director of the Bavarian Opera, and other distinguished guests.
Riko is constructing an automated high-rack set warehouse for the Bavarian Opera in Poing, near Munich, as an extension of the existing facility. The new warehouse consists of a steel racking structure accommodating 450 storage spaces for specially designed set containers, along with a roof and façade, 186 containers (measuring 9.7m x 2.3m x 2.7m), a special lifting platform for container loading and unloading, and a custom-designed automated racking crane for handling these containers.
Riko has designed and supplied the technological equipment, which is currently being assembled and commissioned. The project also involves connecting the new warehouse to the existing storage system, as well as integrating and expanding the IT system for warehouse management.
Key subcontractors for the project include Slovenian companies Iskra Impuls, Monter Kocjan, and Schwarzmann, as well as German manufacturers Bueter Hebetechnik and Altmann. Over the next four years, during the warranty period, Riko will also provide maintenance for the entire warehouse system.
