Today, Mr Janez Škrabec, Director of Rico, signed a set of
contracts with Mr Franci Rokavec, Mayor of the Municipality of Litija,
and Mr Milan Izlakar, Mayor of the Municipality of Šmartno pri Litiji,
at the Bogenšperk Castle for the project “Construction of sewerage
system and central treatment plants in the municipalities of Litija and
Šmartno pri Litija”.
Riko, d.o.o was selected in the public tender published by the
Municipality of Litija for the project “Construction of sewerage system
and central treatment plants in the municipalities of Litija and Šmartno
pri Litija” as a general contractor for the construction project within
the context of the group of projects associated with wastewater
drainage and treatment in the Sava river basin - phase II. The
subcontractor selected to carry out all the construction work is the
company Trgograd, d.o.o. from Litija and the subcontractor in charge of
supervising the work is the company Projekt d.d. from Nova Gorica.
The project involves the planning, design and construction of a
sewerage system for the Municipality of Litija, the planning, design and
construction of a sewerage system for the Municipality of Šmartno pri
Litiji and the planning, design and construction of a central wastewater
treatment plant with a capacity of 11,000 PE. As the general
contractor, Rico will carry out the project planning on the basis of the
tender documents; this includes the preparatory work, earthworks,
construction work, machinery jobs and electrician jobs, the supply of
technological equipment, the startup and test run and the finishing
work. The project is worth € 13,599,800.00 excluding VAT or €
16,319,760.00 including VAT.
Both sewerage systems will be constructed by the end of 2013, but the
central treatment plant will be handed over to start operating at the
beginning of 2014.
The construction of the central wastewater treatment plant will
reduce pressures on the natural environment, improve the quality of
surface water and groundwater due to the construction of two sewerage
systems, reduce the amount of emissions into water from municipal
pollution sources, improve health and living conditions for the
population and improve the economic infrastructure so as to facilitate
further industrial and economic development for both municipalities,
along with the development of the living environment.
The project is partly financed by the EU Cohesion Fund within the
framework of the “Operational Programme of Environmental and Transport
Infrastructure Development for the period of 2007-2013”, development
priority “Environmental protection – waters” and priority guideline
“Collection and treatment of municipal wastewater”.
At this occasion, Mr Janez Škrabec, Director of Riko, signed a
contract with the company Trgograd, d.o.o. from Litija, which is going
to participate in the project as a subcontractor and take over the
construction finishing work for both sewerage systems and the treatment
plant. He also signed a contract with Mr Klemen Ramovš, Director of the
Seviqc Brežice Festival to sponsor the tour of the Russian soul folk
music ensemble called Svetilen, which is going to perform in the church
of St. Nicholas (Slovene: cerkev Sv. Nikolaja) Litija on 21 July 2012.
